Join Block Party Handmade Boutique on April 16 at their Frankfort Avenue location for a Derby filled Saturday! We’ll be set up to help you find everything you need to look your best and enjoy a day at the races.
From 11-3 enjoy pop up shops from Block Party artists, free crafts for kids and free refreshments!
From 12-2 Make your own DIY Beauty Bar sugar scrub with Vintage Body Spa using a variety of exfoliants, scents, and natural oils to match your skin. Vintage Body Spa and A.J. Murray’s will launch their Derby scents including Mint Julep, Oaks Lilly, Run for the Roses and Kentucky Bourbon. They’ll have gift sets for both men and women and shopping specials.
Dawn Middleton of Dawn’s Designs is the current “Artist of the Month” at Block Party on Frankfort Avenue. Her handcrafted natural-themed jewelry is the perfect addition to your Derby outfit! Her work will only be available for a limited time so this event is the perfect opportunity to pick up one of her beautiful designs for your Derby outfit!
We’ll have a Derby themed craft set up so bring your kids and let them have fun while you shop!
From 3-5 enjoy a meet & greet with artist Liesl Long and enjoy cocktails while shopping. Liesl Long will have prints of her three new 2016 original Derby paintings available. These are limited edition and come in a variety of sizes.
Throughout the day, Block Party will also have Cellar Door Chocolates, ties and bowties from Cyberoptix Tie Lab, Block Party curated dresses made in the USA by independent designers, and fascinators and hats from Deena Fitzpatrick to help customers meet all of their Derby needs!
Join us on September 25 from 5-9 at our Frankfort Avenue location for a reception featuring our new Artist of the Month! Brian Ott is our featured October artist and we’ll have his work on display during the FAT Friday Trolley Hop.
Brian is an illustrator, painter and musician. His current work includes brand design for many local businesses as well as his current line of animal illustrations. (see above image)
Block Party is excited to exhibit Brian’s work! You definitely need one of his animal prints for your home.
This reception is free and open to the public. We’ll have yummy treats and good times so make sure you stop by!
The Kentucky Derby is the time of year when many of us open up our homes to friends and family. It’s a perfect time show off our wonderful city.
I’ve curated perfect locally made gifts to give your guests a taste of local flavor while they are staying with you. Include a basket of these treats for your guests to enjoy on their visit or to take back home with them! They’ll be so happy with their visit that they may come back even outside of Derby! Haha 🙂
