Where is Block Party Handmade Boutique Located?

We have two locations in Louisville. 560 South 4th Street in downtown Louisville and 2916 Frankfort Avenue in Crescent Hill.

Where do I park?

Downtown: There is limited metered street parking, the closest being on 4th and also on Chestnut.  If you cannot find street parking there are many inexpensive lots nearby that have kiosks to pay by the hour or all day. We also offer parking reimbursement for the Clay Commons Garage (324 West Chestnut Street) with purchase at Block Party.  This is valid anytime on Saturdays as long as there is not an event at the Palace and on weekdays after 6pm.  The Clay Commons Garage is also less than a block from Block Party.

Frankfort Avenue: There is parking in the lot behind our building and also on the street.

What are Block Party’s hours?

New Spring hours:

Downtown – Monday-Saturday 10:30-6:30, Sunday 12-4.  Frankfort Avenue – closed on Monday, Tuesday-Saturday 10:30-6:30, Sunday 12-4.

On First Fridays, our downtown store is open late during the trolley hop until 9 for art openings. On the last Friday of the month, our Frankfort Avenue store is open late during the FAT Friday Trolley Hop until 9.

What kind of products do you sell?

Block Party sells handmade products mostly from local artists, however we do sell from regional artists as well if the product has a representative need in our shop.  Our products primarily include handmade gifts and apparel. Examples include bath and body care, jewelry, paintings, wood art, toys, tee shirts, pottery, glass art, and chocolate.

How can I sell my art at Block Party?

Block Party only accepts online applications. If you are an interested vendor, we would love to hear from you! You must fill out an application here:  APPLY HERE. Vendors will not be considered without filling out the application first.  You will hear from us in about 1-4 weeks.

Can I come in and talk to the owner about selling my wares?

Artist consultations are by appointment only.  For consideration of our customers and management’s time, you may not come in for walk in appointments or to show your products.  After you apply online, you will be contacted for a consultation before acceptance into the stores.

What makes a successful vendor at Block Party?

The most successful people at Block Party are entrepreneurial.  We provide a unique opportunity for artists to have their own storefront, and to make more profit than typical retail.  Those who are the most successful take care of their space like it’s their own store. That means restocking their booth at least monthly, being a part of the co-op, helping promote their own work and the store, and most of all a positive attitude.

What are deciding factors on who is accepted into the shop?

We provide exclusivity for existing vendors, so if your product is great but we have something similar, you may be added to a waiting list as we will not carry too similar of products.  We also consider price point, quality of work, professionalism, and uniqueness of product.

Does Block Party hire employees?

No, we do not accept applications for employment. We are an artist run community co-op.

Do we ship items outside of Louisville?

Absolutely! We have shipped items all around the country. If you’re visiting from out of town we can ship items home for you.

Where else can I find Block Party items?

You can find items in our online shop at Shoptiques as well as at local and regional art fairs.
